It depends on the skin type and product, but Dr. Glick usually recommends against it. "I would not skip a moisturizer as moisturizers are important to keep your skin barrier intact which is important for overall skin and microbiome health and acne prevention," Dr. Glick explains. She recommends choosing a lighter moisturizer or one that penetrates a bit deeper, so it doesn't feel that the moisturizer sits on your skin, worsening the oil.
