The flavours in this recipe develop only during marination, So I recommend you to marinate this over night. This paneer tikka is best served hot. Yogurt | Curd

Yogurt is a food produced bybacterialfermentationofmilk. The bacteria used to make yogurt are known as yogurt cultures. Fermentation of sugars in the milk by these bacteria produceslactic acid, which acts onmilk proteinto give yogurt itstextureand characteristic tart flavor. Cow's milk is the milk most commonly used to make yogurt.

Yogurt adds as a creamy outer coating for the paneer tikka. You should use hung curd, which is curd let to hung for few hours in muslin cloth to remove excess water.

Gram flour | besan adds as a binding ingredient in this recipe. Roasting the besan in a dry pan till aromatic will help with the taste.

Paneer Tikka Preparation

  • Mix all ingredients for marination. Add in cubed veggies and paneer. Mix gently. Leave this to marinate for 3 to 4 hours or overnight.
  • Preheat oven to 250 Degree C. Set the oven to grill mode. Line a baking tray with foil, brush with some ghee.
  • Now take skewers and skewer the veggies.
  • Pop it in oven and grill for 10 mins. Remove it, flip the skewer, grill for another 8 to 10 mins.
  • Remove it, brush with ghee, sprinkle chat masala.
  • Serve hot.

Ingredients

Paneer Tikka Made in Oven (Version 1)

  • Paneer - 200 grams cubed
  • Onion - 1 large cubed
  • Capsicum / Bell Pepper - 1 cubed
  • Tomatoes - 2 cubed and seeds removed
  • Ghee for drizzling on top
  • Chat Masala for sprinkling on top

For Marination

  • Unsour Thick Curd / Greek Yogurt - 1 cup
  • Kashmiri Chilli Powder - 2 tblspn
  • Chat Masala Powder - ½ tsp
  • Cumin Powder - 1 tsp
  • Turmeric Powder - ½ tsp
  • Kasuri Methi Leaves - 2 tsp
  • Roasted Gram flour - 3 tblspn (check notes)
  • Ginger Garlic Paste - 1 tblspn
  • Garam Masala Powder - 1 tsp
  • Lemon Juice - 1 tsp or to taste
  • Salt to taste

Paneer Tikka Made in Tawa (Version 2)

  • Paneer-1 packet cubed
  • Bell Pepper / Capsicum-1 cubed
  • Tomato-2 deseeded and cubed
  • Onion-1 cubed
  • Oil-2 tblspn

For Marinate:

  • Curd-1 cup
  • Coriander powder / Malli podi-1 tblspn
  • Pepper-1 tsp
  • Red chilli powder-1 tsp
  • Cumin powder / Jeera podi-1 tsp
  • Garam masala powder-2 tsp
  • Turmeric powder / Manjal podi-1 tsp
  • Ginger Garlic paste-1 tblspn
  • Chat masala powder-1 tblspn
  • Lemon juice-2 tblspn
  • Red food colour-a pinch
  • Salt to taste

Instructions

Paneer Tikka Made in Oven

  • Mix all ingredients for marination. Add in cubed veggies and paneer. Mix gently. Leave this to marinate for 3 to 4 hours or overnight.

  • Add in chopped vegetables and paneer cubes in this and marinate for 5-6 hours in fridge (over night is best).

  • Take this out of the fridge before 30 mins of preparation so that it comes to room temperature.

  • Now heat 1 tblspn of oil in a nonstick pan and arrange the paneer and vegetables in a single layer.

  • Cook on both sides for 4-5 mins till everything is cooked..

  • Remove this to a plate.

  • Serve it as it is or skewer it alternatively in a tooth pick and serve..

  • Taste best when served hot.

Notes

  1. I added gram flour which I dry roasted in a pan till raw smell leaves. use that for flavour.

How to Make Paneer Tikka In Tawa

Ingredients:

  • Paneer-1 packet cubed
