the point fire in sonoma county is fully contained. a 12 member mutual aid strike team from san francisco just returned from their week long deployment this afternoon. the point fire burned about 1200 acres near lake sonoma. three structures were burned at its height, 400 personnel were on scene, including those san francisco crews where they were doing structure protection, tactical patrols, engaging in fire lines, and then they were redeployed to the scotts fire and then recently to the sites fire, providing the same services to those communities and firefighters from kentfield and the city of berkeley also took part in that strike team. >> all right. a lot of spot fires in the area, well, mainly east of us, where a lot of the lightning strikes were this afternoon. we're just looking at a fire called the apache fire, which is up by palermo, just south of oroville. it's at 650 acres, and they have some evacuation orders and warnings and things in place up there. so if you haven't palermo area for.

10:50 pm

you know what i'm talking about 650 acres, good size fire. and there's a couple of smaller ones burning, but we'll keep an eye on them as the night goes on. the showers that we saw today in san jose could repeat tomorrow. this is a satellite radar image, and you can see the radar, the green offshore. that's the moisture plume. that's kind of going to be over the area tonight into early tomorrow afternoon. that will bring the very real possibility of another scattered shower, or maybe even thunder shower in parts of parts of the area. so we'll let you know if that happens as well. the fog is coming back in. you can see it there. golden gate bridge shrouded in fog. it's shallow marine layer, right. the towers are about 720ft, and you can see the fog is just touching the top of the tower. so that's about how deep the inversion is, which indicates you're not going to see a huge push of fog tonight. but it'll get inside the bay. it'll get into berkeley and albany and up into richmond, point richmond down to alviso, probably into hayward as well. current temperatures, you see, the sea breeze is extended from where it was this afternoon just by the colors. the greens would

represent the sea breeze and then where the cooler, moister areas and getting you see the oranges and yellows. so it's an easy way just to take a quick visual and go, oh, that's where, that's where the cool air is. and that's where the cool air is not. but the microclimates tomorrow. very similar to today, which, by the way, i'm going to run this thing will be very similar tomorrow and the next day and the next day they're very i mean, each day we're kind of just going to have subtle, subtle changes as we go through time. tomorrow there'll be more clouds, a little more humidity because of that subtropical moisture. but temperatures are going to stay generally in the low 90s at best in the hottest spots, which is very similar to where we were today. so this is the model showing the cloud cover for tomorrow. and then about lunchtime tomorrow. you see, that's maybe our best chance for this subtropical moisture to trigger something with the heat from the day. and then the unstable air. and then it blows out pretty quick fog right along the coast, and then the moisture is gone, the high level stuff. and then the fog comes back in, and that keeps us

10:52 pm

in kind of a mild, pleasant pattern, if you will, temperatures slightly above the average. and then we'll do it again, but not intentionally. here we go with the forecast for tomorrow. there's those clouds again. and then these are the temperatures. this will be your temperature footprint for tomorrow which would be kind of nice quite frankly. and in these forecast highs which are very similar to today but maybe a tad cooler a little cooler tomorrow as well. and then there is the five day forecast. i'll pull sunday in there. it cools off just a little teeny bit, but just a steady as she goes. we'll keep an eye on those fires. >> yes we will, bill. thank you. community leaders and city officials gathered in san jose today to break ground on a brand new, all inclusive playground. mayor matt mehan joining other city leaders at almond and lake park. the new playground is designed to include play elements inclusive to all ages and abilities. it will be separated in two areas a tot lot for ages 2 to 5 and a playground for the older kids. this will be the fourth inclusive playground in san jose.
